Cutting Waste Volume by 60% and Providing Safe Storage

Established in 2013 and headquartered in Madou, Tainan City, Revival Environmental has become a trusted leader in sustainable waste management. Around 2020, the company expanded into shredding, sorting, and baling of waste—a move that introduced new operational demands, but also greater opportunity for innovation.

In a recent interview, Mr. Rush Lee, representing Revival Environmental, shared how the company overcame these challenges by implementing a smarter solution.

The Challenge: High-Volume Waste and Environmental Concerns

Beyond logistical concerns, there were environmental implications. Large volumes and odor, pollution risks due to toxic runoff and scattering, that affects local residents’ health.

Big quantities of waste is coming into Revival's waste plants every day.

Baling Became The Solution

To tackle these problems, Revival Environmental introduced Orkel Hi-X evo compactors to their sites.

“Depending on the type of waste, we process about 20 to 40 tons per hour on average,” says Mr. Rush. “The machines have excellent compression performance—we see about a 60% reduction in total waste volume.”

The compacted waste is baled and stored safe and efficiently until the incineration plant is ready to receive it for energy recovery.

Waste Management in Taiwan

  • Population
As of mid-2025, Taiwan's population is approximately 23.1 million people.
  • Waste Generation
In 2023, Taiwan generated a record 11.58 million tonnes of waste
  • World-Leading Recycling
Taiwan has one of the highest recycling rates in the world, with over 50% of household waste recycled—second only to Germany (as of 2025).
  • Circular Economy Goals
Taiwan is actively pushing toward a circular economy—recycling not just products but resources like heat, water, and materials to reduce environmental impact.

Efficiency and Reliability Meets Ease of Use

Mr. Rush praises the Orkel compactors not only for their performance but for their user-friendly design.

“The interface of the control panel is intuitive. We can run the machine in manual or automatic mode, depending on what we need. And training new staff is very straightforward.”

He also highlights the strong after-sales support from Orkel: “Their service is outstanding. Technicians are available to support us, and if needed, they even fly in engineers from abroad. That gives us a lot of confidence.”

Cleaner Operations and Greater Efficiency

With waste now securely baled, storage is cleaner and far less space-demanding as the volume is reduced significantly. When the incinerator is ready, the sealed round bales are easily and efficiently transported to the plant.

This closed-loop system reduces emissions, operational costs, and the environmental pollution.

Importantly, baling waste has also helped protect the health of nearby communities, solving issues like unpleasant odors, scattered debris, and groundwater contamination.
