Happy cows are more likely to produce more!

Portuguese Spanish  German

After the development and economic growth we achieved in the last years we aim for a balance between profit and a responsible use of resources. Being efficient today is fundamental. We reached a point where we cannot afford waste. We need to produce more and better with less, and this is exactly where Orkel brings a profitable solution to

Better forage conservation
By compacting forage, you are able to conserve it for future use. The quality of the conserved content is key for a better health of animals and higher quality and productivity of both meat and milk. The nutritional content conservation will be maximized by high density baling, leading animals to digest better, which allows them to grow stronger and healthier by eating less, but more efficient. As a consequence they produce more and better!

The benefits of baling

High density compaction is about the quality of your bales! The main advantages, which increase your profitability are:

  • Easy and clean logistics (volume reduction 50 - 70%, easy to transport, stackable);
  • Efficiency and easy market access (you transport and store more in less space);
  • Close to no losses during conservation period (oxygen protection) ;
  • More energy and nutritional content due to optimal conservation;
  • Better animal performance (higher nutritional value, more energy);
  • Excellent quality.

All this leads to your increased profit. That’s easy math!

Harvest flexibility and non-existent losses
By baling you are more flexible, you are able to choose the best time to harvest. Besides, you will have close to no losses, compared to the 20 - 30% of bunker silos. Let’s put it this way, with a bunker silo you might waste a full production every fourth year! That is a huge waste of resources, time, energy and money! And as far as we are talking about numbers, independent university tests pointed out approx. 20% profit increase of meat production  and 36% increase of milk production by using Orkel bales compared to bunkers.

Let‘s also mention the trackability as an added value. In order to enhance quality, knowing the origin of product and tracking processes is key. Through our FeedIQ system you are able to identify the content of every single bale. Just by scanning a bale with your smartphone you will be able to know its forage quality, then you can feed optimally and gain higher animal yield.

To summarize, as in a P&L Statement you will see your profit yield value grow and losses come close to zero. As a plus, you are also saving energy and resources, being more efficient and let’s not forget the well-being factor. Happy cows are more likely to produce more! Orkel Compactors, the profitable solution.

Also to keep in mind: Climate changes are unpredictable! Stocking and conserving silage for future use might be crucial! It is happening more and more frequently.
